Week 3 NFL Storylines

By Bret Duenkel

1. Justin Fields Makes his First NFL Start

Andy Dalton last week left the game with a knee injury. Justin Fields took over and made some nice plays including picking up a 3rd & 7 to basically seal the game. Andy Dalton has officially been ruled out for this week's game vs The Cleveland Browns, so Fields will get his first career start this weekend. This will be our first real good look at Fields in the regular season and I expect good moments and bad moments this week in his first start. For Fields it’s all about learning and improving every week.

2. Is The Packers Offense Back?

Last week Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones and Davante Adams had big games in Week 2 vs The Detroit Lions. Aaron Jones totaled 4 touchdowns & looked like he did last season. The Packers now face a huge test vs The 49ers defense which has a lot of talent. Eligton Jenkins Packers LT who is filling in for David Bakhtiari who will miss at least the first six weeks of The NFL Season. Which will make the Packers test this weekend even more difficult. We will learn a lot about the Packers offense this weekend after the game vs The 49ers.

3. Are The Ravens For Real?

Let’s start with the Ravens, a team that is dealing with 15 players on injured reserve. Lost in a thrilling Monday Night Game to the Raiders in Week 1. Then in Week 2 they won a thrilling Sunday Night game vs the Chiefs. So the question is this Ravens team for real? I think this Ravens team is a playoff team but not a Super Bowl Contender this season. The Ravens schedule is very tough this season which is a schedule that features: The Browns twice, The Packers, The Steelers twice, The Rams, The Broncos and The Chargers many tough games versus very good teams. They are also dealing with many injuries and Lamar hasn’t lived up to expectations in the postseason so far in his career.

4. Derek Carr MVP Season?

Derek Carr has come out this season on fire, his team the Raiders are 2-0 with two big wins vs Ravens & Steelers to start the season. Carr leads the league in Passing Yards and has one of the best starts to his season of his career. Gotta gave a shout out to Deuce, one of the Hot or Not boys here at Duenkel Productions predicted DC to win the MVP.

We Will Talk even more about these storylines on The Sunday Show Live at 9:50 AM CT every Sunday. To tune in tomorrow click here.
