More Possible Targets in the First Round for the Packers.

Carlos Silva

Now the Packers right now have the 29th pick in the NFL 2021 Draft which starts next month. This will be a huge draft as the Packers are going to have to nail this draft as this will be a huge one for them. They have a tough schedule for the 2021 NFL season, also did not do too much in free agency. They have ten picks that ranks second most in the NFL. That is a lot of draft capital to work with and now have more options thanks to the recent NFL trades for quarterbacks. Here are the options for the Packers in the draft.

Kadarius Toney

The Packers could be getting a wide receiver in the first round for the first ever in the Aaron Rodgers era. Now this a deep receiver class, but there is a good standout, which is Kadarius Toney the Receiver from Florida. Toney came on the scene in 2020 and scored ten touchdowns. He is a gadget player that Matt LaFleur would love to have in his offense. He can do the things that Tyler Ervin did which is motion and scare defenses with his speed. He can also play the slot something the Packers have not had since Randall Cobb. Would be a solid pick if the Packers select him with the first pick.

Christian Barmore

The Packers do need to improve on the defensive line and give Kenny Clark some help. Kingsley Keke is a decent piece next to Clark, but still could use another piece. Christian Barmore might be the true answer on the defensive line. Down the stretch of the 2020 College football season Barmore showed that he has raw power and quickness off the line. He is also still raw and needs to be in the right situation which he can be with the Packers. Having Kenny Clark as a mentor will really help as well. Might be a reach, but would not be bad option with the first pick for the Packers.

Alijah Vera Tucker

The Packers offensive line has lots of question marks. Corey Linsley left in free agency. On top of that David Bakhtiari will miss the first half of the season with a torn ACL. Alijah Vera Tucker has the versatility to play guard and tackle. Played in those two spots the last two years at USC. He also has all the tools especially the feet to become a dominant offensive lineman in the NFL. He can start right away and solidify the offensive line. If he is on the board when the Packers pick do not be surprised if the Packers pull the trigger.

Jaycee Horn

One of the best corners in this draft and should go high in the first. Now small chance he falls in the draft. If he does the Packers should really pull the trigger on him. He is a tall lengthy corner who can jam wide receivers at the line of scrimmage and disrupt their routes. Even with Kevin King back corner is still a need. Horn can fill that need and be the future number two corner to pair with Jaire Alexander. He will not be thrown into the fire as he can be eased in the lineup, which is a good thing for rookie corners transitioning to the NFL. Also may trade up if he is the range. Packers should definitely take him with the 29th pick if he is still on the board.

Caleb Farley

The best corner in this draft is Caleb Farley. He tape is really fun to watch. He is really sticky in man coverage and has the making to be a really good corner in the NFL. Now the problem is that a back injury is showing up and that is a real concern. That will cause him to drop in the late first round probably to the early second. Now the Packers do have a need at corner and getting him if available will be a steal. On top of that he does not to be thrown into the fire early and that can ease his transition, especially with his back injury. If he is still there at the 29th pick of the draft that would be a steal for the Packers.
